The Province of Massa Carrara extends along a territory comprising beautiful and various landscapes, full of history, traditions and customs, people, organic produce, cuisine that, although in an uniform cultural context, are combined one with the other.
Because of the variety of landscape such is reflected in the ancient traditions that are still alive today and used as typical products.
Wines of this area represent the territory's wealth: Candia dei Colli Apuani DOC (dry and sweet wine), Colli di Luni DOC (white and red wine), Val di Magra I.G.T. and Tuscan I.G.T. Wines are produced by the local vineyards, being white wines Vermentino, Albarola, and Durella and the red wines known as Massaretta, Vermentino Nero, Pollera and others.

Here you can find a special and unique type of bread, such as Marocca of Casola made of chestnut flour, Vinca bread which is cooked in a wooden stove and Marocco of Montignoso with maize flour and also found in the area are olives, salami such as "Lardo di Colonnata IGP" (lard) and sausages of Montignoso.
Honey is also excellent be it acacia or chestnut honey. It is the first type of Italian honey which has obtained a DOP mark by the European Union.
The restaurants along the seafront offer a large choice of fresh fish. The other restaurants offer typical dishes such as „testaroli?, which are cooked in cast iron cooking pots as a thousand years ago and flavored with pesto and "torta d'erbi" (vegetable pies), handmade pasta with beans, marinated cod and sweet rice cake.
